Mas, enquanto o Y-Job era criado por <strong>Harley Earl<\/strong> e os designers da rec\u00e9m-criada Divis\u00e3o de Estilo da GM, a equipe tamb\u00e9m estava trabalhando em outro projeto, muito maior em escala.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/classicshow.lojavirtualfc.com.br\/prod,idloja,14163,idproduto,2199063,assinaturas-assinatura-da-revista-classic-show\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5088 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/banner_assinatura.jpg\" alt=\"banner_assinatura\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/banner_assinatura.jpg 728w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/banner_assinatura-300x37.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O <strong>GM Futurliner<\/strong> (Future, em ingl\u00eas, escrito sem o \u201cE\u201d para que a GM pudesse registrar a marca) fora criado para transportar a exposi\u00e7\u00e3o itinerante da GM, a chamada \u201c<strong>Parade of Progress<\/strong>\u201d (Parada do Progresso), por todo o pa\u00eds, e 12 desses ve\u00edculos foram constru\u00eddos entre 1939 e 1940.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8928\" src=\"http:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_00.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_00.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_00-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_00-768x427.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A \u201cParade of Progress\u201d fora criada pelo diretor de pesquisas da montadora, <strong>Charles \u201cBoss\u201d Kettering<\/strong>, com o intuito de levar shows de tecnologia do futuro em turn\u00ea pelos EUA, mostrando modernidades como motores a jato, micro-ondas e televis\u00f5es. Tudo come\u00e7ou em 1936, com oito caminh\u00f5es Streamliner, que foram substitu\u00eddos em 1941 pelos Futurliner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8929\" src=\"http:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_05.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_05-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_05-768x427.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O exterior do Futurliner era repleto de detalhes em art d\u00e9co; vinha tamb\u00e9m equipado com oito rodas, quatro em cada eixo, com pneus faixa branca com calotas cromadas, com um friso vermelho grosso ao redor, e ainda o s\u00edmbolo do \u00e1tomo gravado no centro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Uma grande quantidade de pe\u00e7as e placas cromadas estava presente no ve\u00edculo, tanto no interior como no exterior, ressaltando seu lado tecnol\u00f3gico. O design da cabine, projetado por Raymond Smith, foi inspirado no Boeing Flying Fortress de 1935, embora tenha sido alterado posteriormente, devido ao calor excessivo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8930\" src=\"http:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_02.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_02-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/futurliner_02-768x427.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Na frente, as letras GM na cor dourada, sobre um desenho alado na cor branca, chamam muito a aten\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Embora cada ve\u00edculo fabricado seja enorme, ele s\u00f3 continha assentos para tr\u00eas pessoas, com o motorista acessando a cabine, de 3 m de altura, atrav\u00e9s de uma porta localizada \u00e0 frente da roda dianteira direita. Seu assento \u00e9 central, com uma cadeira estofada em dois tons. Cada Futurliner apresentava uma tecnologia diferente, que iam desde dispositivos, que estariam presentes na cozinha ou sala-de-estar do futuro, at\u00e9 demonstra\u00e7\u00f5es cient\u00edficas. Ap\u00f3s o fim da parada em 1956, a maioria dos Futurliners fora vendida ou doada \u00e0 pol\u00edcia de Michigan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apesar de seu enorme tamanho, tornando-os dif\u00edceis de armazenar, nove dos doze ve\u00edculos ainda existem.
