Chrysler, depois de sua morte em 1940, fora abordado por <strong>Ralph Roberts<\/strong>, da <strong>LeBaron Carrossiers Inc.<\/strong>, com uma proposta para a fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o de dois ve\u00edculos, o Thunderbolt (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/chrysler-thunderbolt-o-carro-do-futuro\/\"><strong>clique AQUI<\/strong><\/a> para conferir a hist\u00f3ria) e o extravagante e aerodin\u00e2mico <strong>Chrysler<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Newport Phaeton<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/classicshow.lojavirtualfc.com.br\/prod,idloja,14163,idproduto,2199063,assinaturas-assinatura-da-revista-classic-show\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5088 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/banner_assinatura.jpg\" alt=\"banner_assinatura\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/banner_assinatura.jpg 728w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/banner_assinatura-300x37.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Keller, reconhecendo imediatamente o potencial de ambos, deu ordem a Roberts para construir seis unidades de cada ve\u00edculo para uma apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o nacional. Por\u00e9m, o prazo era praticamente imposs\u00edvel: 90 dias, pois Keller queria apresentar os ve\u00edculos nos auto shows para a temporada de 1941, j\u00e1 no outono de 1940.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">E a LeBaron quase conseguiu, mas apenas cinco exemplares de cada ve\u00edculo foram fabricados, bem a tempo de serem apresentados na mostra de Nova Iorque. A ideia era atrair grande exposi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 marca, e funcionou. Visto por milhares de pessoas e potenciais compradores de todo o pa\u00eds, trouxeram grande entusiasmo e vendas para a Chrysler, diferentemente de suas concorrentes na \u00e9poca, com poucas op\u00e7\u00f5es em suas apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O Newport, projetado por Roberts e Alex Tremulis, tinha linhas inovadoras, recursos avan\u00e7ados para sua \u00e9poca e um curioso \u201cpara-brisa duplo\u201d (ou duas capotas): um para os ocupantes da frente e outro para os ocupantes da parte de tr\u00e1s. Como podemos ver, o ve\u00edculo possui um belo design org\u00e2nico, sem ornamenta\u00e7\u00e3o ou ma\u00e7anetas nas portas, seguindo um fluxo suave dos para-choques dianteiros at\u00e9 a traseira.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8843\" src=\"http:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chrysler-newport_03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chrysler-newport_03.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chrysler-newport_03-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chrysler-newport_03-768x427.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Quatro unidades do ve\u00edculo sa\u00edram da f\u00e1brica com far\u00f3is retr\u00e1teis embutidos na carroceria, e apenas uma unidade sa\u00edra com seus far\u00f3is expostos. Este foi honrado como o pace car (ou safety car) das 500 Milhas de Indian\u00e1polis de 1941, tornando-se uma grande vitrine para marca, devido \u00e0 promo\u00e7\u00e3o na corrida.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8844\" src=\"http:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chrysler-newport_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chrysler-newport_01.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chrysler-newport_01-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.classicshow.com.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chrysler-newport_01-768x427.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A exibi\u00e7\u00e3o na mostra de Nova Iorque, os passeios promocionais realizados pela marca e ainda a participa\u00e7\u00e3o na prova de Indian\u00e1polis trouxeram um grande pico de vendas para a Chrysler, comprovado pelos seus concession\u00e1rios na \u00e9poca.
